About King Fahd’s Fountain

With a height of over 310 meters, King Fahd’s is the tallest fountain the world. In fact, it is higher than even the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris! Now that’s very impressive, isn’t it? Located close to the Red Sea in the King Fahd Garden, the fountain is a much-loved landmark of Jeddah – visible from miles away. Operational for over 3 decades, the fountain was built to commemorate the silver jubilee of King Fahd’s rule.

The fountain is built in the shape of an incense burner which has a very special religious significance in Islam.

  • View from the Waterfront

The wonderful Jeddah Corniche, by the waterfront, provides among the best views of the fountain. The cornice is a great place to take relaxing walks and watch the fountain as it shoots water high up in the air, at speeds of over 200 kmph! That’s mind-boggling, to say the least.

Even better would be if you pay the visit in the evening. The spectacular views of the setting sun across the waters would surely leave you spellbound. And once darkness has set in, more than 500 high-lit LED lamps would light up the fountain, creating a magnificent display. You would be mesmerized by the views, to say the least.

What’s an outing without some gastronomic indulgence? And in the vicinity of King Fahd’s Fountain, you won’t have anything to complain regarding this. There is a wide range of restaurants here to offer you an array of snacks, main course, and beverages.

Located a few hundred meters from the fountain is Café Aroma – among the oldest Italian eating joints in Jeddah. You would be floored by their rich selection of coffee, mocktails & snacks. It is also among the hot favorite of tourists to Jeddah. The Culture Café is another very famous restaurant in this locality.
