Quick answer: Global Village Season 31 is confirmed to return in October 2026 and run to May 2027, with a mid-month Wednesday the most likely opening day based on the last several seasons. Dubai Safari Park Season 8 is confirmed for October. Dubai Miracle Garden is expected late September to early October, and Hatta Wadi Hub usually restarts mid-September to early October. The Dubai Fitness Challenge runs 31 October to 29 November. One thing to plan around: the Museum of the Future closes from mid-September 2026 and reopens in the first quarter of 2027.
There is one evening every year when Dubai quietly changes gear. You step out of the car at around 7 PM, brace for the usual wall of heat, and instead get a breeze that is merely warm. Our drivers always notice it first, usually somewhere on the Al Qudra stretch. Within a week the rooftop tables are full again, desert camps switch their lights back on, and the city’s biggest outdoor attractions start unlocking their gates.
That switch happens in October, and October 2026 is a big one. Global Village returns for its 31st season, Dubai Safari Park opens Season 8, Miracle Garden replants millions of flowers for Season 15, and the Dubai Fitness Challenge turns the whole city into an open-air gym from 31 October.
Here is the complete list of what reopens, what is officially confirmed versus what is a strong pattern-based estimate, the one closure that will catch people out, and how to build a trip around it all. Every date below comes from official park announcements or Dubai government sources.

Why October Is When Dubai Moves Outside
Dubai’s outdoor attractions close in summer for good reason: the heat is genuinely unsafe for long visits, and floral displays and animal habitats need the downtime. October is the turning point, and the numbers explain why:
- Average highs fall to about 34.5°C, down from September’s 37.5°C, and keep dropping through the month.
- Around 10 hours of bright sunshine a day with effectively no rainfall, so outdoor plans rarely get cancelled.
- Nights settle into the mid-twenties by the last week of October, which is exactly when an open-air pavilion or desert camp becomes comfortable rather than punishing.
- Sea temperatures stay around 30°C to 31°C, so beach days at JBR, Kite Beach and Sunset Beach are still very much on.
The crowds follow the weather. Dubai welcomed 19.59 million international overnight visitors in 2025, a 5 percent rise and a third consecutive record year, with October arrivals alone up 4.8 percent year on year. Book attraction slots and safaris early, because you are not the only one who spotted the window.
Every Attraction Reopening in October 2026
1. Global Village, Season 31
The headline act. Global Village has confirmed Season 31 returns in October 2026 and runs through May 2027, though the exact opening day was not published at the time of writing. The pattern is consistent: opening ceremonies traditionally fall on the Wednesday closest to mid-October. Season 30 opened Wednesday 15 October 2025 and Season 29 on 16 October 2024, so local media expect either 14 or 21 October 2026. Season 30 ran with more than 90 cultures across 30 pavilions, roughly 3,500 shopping outlets, over 250 dining options and more than 200 rides and games, and was extended three weeks to 31 May 2026 on the back of demand.
2. Dubai Miracle Garden, Season 15
The world’s largest natural flower garden closed Season 14 on 31 May 2026 and is deep into its summer replant. No official Season 15 date has been released, but the recent pattern is clear: Season 14 opened on 29 September 2025, and the garden has launched in the final week of September for several consecutive years. Pencil in late September to the first days of October. You get roughly 72,000 square metres of floral architecture, including the Guinness record Emirates A380 structure and the 18-metre Mickey Mouse topiary. Go at opening or after 5 PM, since midday in early October still bites and the flowers photograph far better in soft light.
3. Dubai Safari Park, Season 8
Confirmed on the park’s own site: Dubai Safari Park returns for Season 8 in October 2026, with tickets going live the same month. Season 7 ran to 22 June 2026 and recorded 144 animal births. The park covers six zones, African Village, Asian Village, Explorer Village, Arabian Desert Safari, Kids Farm and Al Wadi, with more than 3,000 animals. Winter hours have run 9 AM to 8 PM from November, with last entry an hour before closing. Arrive early: animals are active in the cool hours and asleep by lunch.
4. Hatta Wadi Hub and the Mountain Season
Hatta’s adventure hub is a reliable early opener, restarting on 15 September in 2025 and 1 October the year before, so expect a similar mid-September to early-October return. Ziplines, mountain biking trails, kayaking on the dam and the Hatta drop-in slide all come back, and the mountains sit a few degrees cooler than the city. Treat it as a full day out with an early departure, roughly 90 minutes to two hours each way, and carry your Emirates ID or passport copy.
5. Dubai Garden Glow
Garden Glow historically reopened in September at Zabeel Park with millions of LED installations, glow art and a dinosaur zone. The attraction has been moving to a new location with a new concept, so treat its return as unconfirmed until it announces officially. Check the official Garden Glow site before building an evening around it.
6. Markets, Beach Clubs and Terrace Dining
The unofficial reopenings matter just as much. Weekend community markets such as Ripe Market return to their outdoor homes in October, beach clubs restart daytime programming, and restaurant terraces that were shuttered all summer put their tables back out. Dhow cruise decks become usable again in the evening, and the marina breeze does the rest. This is also when sunset slots at the Burj Khalifa and evening rotations on Ain Dubai stop being a heat endurance test.
Desert Safari, Now That It Is Comfortable
Dune bashing, camel rides and BBQ under the stars, at the time of year when you can actually sit outside for the whole show. Morning, evening, premium and private options with hotel pickup.

The One Closure to Plan Around
While the outdoor attractions switch on, one indoor icon switches off. The Museum of the Future closes to visitors from mid-September 2026 for its biggest exhibition overhaul since opening in February 2022. Every major gallery will be replaced, shaped in part by more than 1,000 public suggestions gathered from contributors worldwide, with a relaunch targeted for the first quarter of 2027 to coincide with its fifth anniversary.
Skip the Queue, Keep the Evening
Burj Khalifa At The Top, Ain Dubai, Dubai Frame, teamLab Phenomena and more, booked in advance so you arrive when the light is right instead of standing in a ticket line.
Desert Safari Season Restarts Properly
Desert safaris run year round, but October is when they become the experience people imagine. In August, a camp visit means fans, misting and a fast exit. From mid-October, guests sit outside for the full show, the sand cools quickly after sunset, and the sky clears enough for real stargazing away from the city glow.
A few things our drivers repeat every season:
- Pick the right safari for the day. Evening for the classic camp experience with dinner and shows, morning for dune bashing and sandboarding without the late night.
- Carry a light jacket for late October. Once the sun drops in the desert, the temperature falls faster than visitors expect.
- Skip the heavy lunch. Dune bashing on a full stomach is a rookie error that ends the same way every time.
- Ask where the camp actually is. Lahbab and Al Faya feel very different, and drive times vary by 40 minutes or more.
- Book at least 48 hours ahead in season. October weekends fill quickly, and the good camps sell out before the average ones do.
October Events Worth Timing Your Trip Around
Dubai Fitness Challenge, 31 Oct to 29 Nov 2026
Confirmed by Dubai Media Office: the tenth edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge runs from Saturday 31 October to Sunday 29 November, asking residents and visitors to complete 30 minutes of activity a day for 30 days. The city fills with free classes, Fitness Villages and pop-up hubs. Dubai Ride takes over Sheikh Zayed Road at dawn on Sunday 1 November, with a 12km highway route past the Museum of the Future, Dubai Water Canal and Burj Khalifa, plus a 4km family route around Downtown. Dubai Yoga closes the challenge at Zabeel Park on 29 November. All free to join.
Outdoor Markets Return
Ripe Market and similar weekend markets typically return in the first half of October with produce stalls, crafts, food trucks and live music. Free to enter, genuinely family friendly, and a good soft landing on your first cooler weekend in the city.
Early, Mid or Late October: Which Week
| Window | Best for | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 10 October | Lowest prices, Miracle Garden and Hatta likely open | Midday still hot, Global Village probably closed |
| 11 to 20 October | The Global Village opening window, city fully awake | Opening date not confirmed yet, keep flights flexible |
| 21 to 31 October | Best weather of the month, everything open | Prices start climbing towards winter peak |
Insider Tips From Our Guides
- Arrive at Global Village before 6 PM or after 9 PM. The 6 to 8 PM wave is where the parking queues form. Aim for the far parking zones and walk in; it is usually faster than circling the near ones.
- Do outdoor attractions first, malls last. Visitors often burn the good evening hours indoors and end up at an outdoor park at 2 PM in 34°C. Flip the order.
- Opening week is a photo opportunity, not a relaxed visit. For space to move and the same energy, go on a weekday in the second or third week of the season.
- Keep one flexible day. Early-season reopening dates can move by a few days, and a floating day means a delay costs you nothing.
- Check the last entry time, not the closing time. Several parks stop admitting guests an hour before closing, which catches out a lot of first-time visitors.
- Tuesdays at Global Village have historically been reserved for ladies, families and couples, so plan around that if you are travelling in a mixed group of friends.
- Sort your visa early. October starts the high season and processing queues grow. Our Dubai visa assistance covers 30 and 60-day options with insurance.
A Five-Day October Itinerary
| Day | Plan | Why then |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Half day city tour, Burj Khalifa at sunset, Dubai Fountain | Gentle start, and the skyline is at its best in evening light |
| Day 2 | Dubai Safari Park at opening, pool or mall midday, dhow cruise dinner | Animals are active early, and the deck is comfortable after dark |
| Day 3 | Miracle Garden at 9 AM, old Dubai and the souqs late afternoon | Flowers photograph best in soft morning light, before crowds |
| Day 4 | Desert safari from mid-afternoon, camp dinner and stargazing | Golden hour on the dunes, then a cool evening at the camp |
| Day 5 | Global Village from 5 PM until late, or an Abu Dhabi day trip | Save the big outdoor night for when your body has acclimatised |

Frequently Asked Questions
Global Village has confirmed October 2026 for Season 31, running through May 2027, but the exact opening day has not been published. Based on the last several seasons, a mid-October Wednesday is most likely, with 14 or 21 October the dates local media expect. Season 30 opened on 15 October 2025 and Season 29 on 16 October 2024.
Early October is still hot in the middle of the day, with average highs near 34.5°C, but mornings and evenings are comfortable and humidity falls through the month. Plan outdoor activities before 10 AM and after 5 PM. By the last week of October the difference is dramatic.
It should be. Season 14 closed on 31 May 2026 and no official Season 15 date has been announced, but the garden has opened in the final week of September for several consecutive years, including 29 September 2025. Late September to early October is the expected window.
No. The museum closes to visitors from mid-September 2026 for a complete exhibition overhaul and is scheduled to reopen in the first quarter of 2027. The exterior remains accessible and photogenic, but the galleries will be closed.
Five days is comfortable for Global Village, Miracle Garden, Safari Park, a desert safari, Burj Khalifa and a city tour with time to breathe. Four works if you are efficient. Hatta needs a full extra day, and Abu Dhabi another.
Usually yes, particularly in the first half of the month. December is peak season, when Dubai recorded more than 2 million visitors in a single month for the first time. Early October gives you most of the reopened attractions at noticeably softer hotel rates.
For Burj Khalifa, yes, especially sunset slots, which sell out days ahead in season. Desert safaris should be booked at least 48 hours ahead in October. Global Village and Miracle Garden entry is easier, though pre-booking saves you the gate queue on weekend evenings.
